First and foremost Happy Australia Day readers! We hope those of you who celebrate this fine day have been enjoying a day off in the sun, huddled around a BBQ, sizzling sausages and sprinkling 100s & 1000s over buttered bread with a cold brew in hand.

Our Australia Day has been a busy one, this morning started early with trips back and forth to the port dropping materials, timbers and roof sheeting to “La Belle Seraphina” for the slow but steady sea crossing to La Digue. The roofing stage is well and truely underway on site now and the true creole design of the buildings is really taking form now (and it looks fantastic!).

Since our last blog we had a celebrity site visit from the UK’s favourite psychic “Sally Morgan” (who had great things to say about Le Nautique!), the swimming pool shell is now fully formed, the laundry walls are up ready for the first floor and reinforcing for the beachside kiosk is well under way.

The last week has also seen us start work on Le Nautique Anse Royale, knocking out walls, blocking up new walls, jackhammering up tiles (a new skill Annalise and I can now add to our girlie construction skills) and doing our “shopping lists”.
