Le Nautique La Digue: Construction Update 3

Hello and welcome the latest instalment of our “construction updates” – we hope that you are enjoying the content as much as we have enjoyed sharing it with you. Don’t forget, if there is ever anything in particular that you would like us to blog or road-test on then please send us an email and we will see what we can do.

This week we are taking you back to the beautiful island of  La Digue so that you can see what we have been up to on site.

We have just returned from yet another site visit and couldn’t wait to share the amazing progress with you – things have certainly come on in leaps and bounds since our last construction update some 4 weeks ago.

First things first… the old beach shack has finally GONE. Seeing the old house come down was bittersweet indeed – the end of one era where we shared so many happy family memories, and the start of a new and exciting family adventure ahead.

We are now up to ground floor level on our second building site, with the first building blocked up to first floor height. This really gives us a great feel for the light and space in the rooms – very exciting indeed. Our third building footprint has also been dug out ready for compaction and the installation of footings early next week.

Anyway enough talk from me, here are a few photos so that you can see for yourself.

And as always with any trip to La Digue, there is always time to hit the beach… this time the famous and breathtakingly stunning Anse Source D’Argent!
