If you have been following us from the beginning, you would know that asides from taking on our huge construction project in La Digue, we have also been simultaneously renovating our other property in Anse Royale, “Le Nautique Mahe”.
When we purchased the Anse Royale property back in 2015, we could see the huge potential that this run down beachfront guest house had to offer – it just needed fresh eyes, some much needed TLC and light, bright stylish coastal interiors to match its amazing beachfront location.
Anse Royale is located approximately 11km south from the Seychelles International Airport and boasts one of the best-loved beaches in the Seychelles. Fringed by a majestic reef and large granite boulders, the tranquil turquoise bay offers sheltered waters ideal for swimming, snorkelling, boating, fishing, kayaking and paddle boarding.
The laid back town of Anse Royale also boasts a daily colour market showcasing the best fish, fruit and vegetables Seychelles has to offer, pus numerous mini-markets for all your self-catering needs, souvenir shops, a petrol station, hospital, university, two churchs and a number of fantastic restaurants, tapas bar and take away shops all within walking distance of Le Nautique Mahe.
But coming back to our Anse Royale project…. we started the renovation about 2 months ago now, first stripping back the existing holiday apartments so that we could reconfiguring the interiors to offer a more comfortable, modern and functional layout.
We removed the tired, old, rusty roof sheets and installed fresh, new grey colourbond roof sheeting to match our La Digue project. The external facades of the apartments have all been given a coastal facelift with exposed ridge beams, bright white panelled soffits and textured weatherboard (yet to be painted).
Internally the new electrics and plumbing are being chased in, the walls plastered, and new ceilings installed ready for tiling. We have changed it up a bit in our deluxe two bedroom apartment, opting for stunning vaulted ceiling which offers a bright, airy interior (we’re a little bit in love!).
In regards to the interiors, we are tackling one room at a time and have pretty much completed “Room 4”, our queen beachfront room. Without revealing too much at this early stage, here’s sneak-peek into our beautiful, modern, coastal interiors.
While we’re on the topic of bathrooms, I should also mentioned that we have almost completed our guest shower room and bathroom. We installed these beautiful facilities as we wanted to give guests with late flights and transfers the opportunity to continue enjoying our sunny beachside property even after they had checked out. Why miss out on a last minute tanning opportunity, snorkel or paddle board?
So that’s it for our Anse Royale update for now. What do you think? We’d love to hear your comments.
Until next time readers…..
